One would have to think about if the person in question was someone else would all of the extra effort to accommodate them been as easily given as it was to Russ, along with the numerous conversations and warnings. Kant believes in setting a guideline that does not exclude any employee, no matter how great they are at their job. He also thinks that everyone should think morally about not only themselves, but about the moral effect their actions will have on those around them. Company ethics can easily be questioned by Russ’ actions without knowing the full story someone would assume Russ is be exploited for his hard work and it could potentially be damaging for the image of the company. It is important to make sure that Russ’ intentions are good and for the benefit of the company and not based on how good he is attempting to make himself look to the public and editors. Work that can be done outside of the office and off of the employer’s clock will be allowed once an employee has reached the maximum number of hours allowed for the week. Russ may not like the idea of receiving extra help, so in order to allow him to be more comfortable with the person hired to assist him allow him to train the person on how he likes things done and maybe they can learn something from each other in the process. This will in turn show employees that everyone can and will be held to the same standard and save the company money as well.
