According to the excerpt from Empire of Illusion Chris Hedges claims that artifice is an essential skill for theatre. Hedges uses political leaders as an example for the propaganda to create intimacy within the people, but no longer have to be honest or sincere. I would say that Hedges is right and wrong at the same time . He does make points talking about political propaganda and how it draws intimacy towards people.When it comes to the narrative, his opinion on emotion is slightly false because not all people who have the trait to be deceptive can succeed.
