Brown an email about his school year. Julian had written to Mr. Brown because he did not want Mr. Browne to think that he thought Mr. Browne was a bad teacher. Julian told him about how great a teacher he was and about an incident that he thought was not a form of bullying. Julian had bullied August by putting mean notes in his locker. Julian believed that what he had done was not an example of bullying. Therefore, he wanted Mr. Browne to see his point of view since he was his favorite teacher. Julian was eager to get a reply back from Mr. Browne, expecting him to agree with him. He was not, however, prepared to deal with the answer he received. Mr. Browne wrote back to Julian giving him some helpful advice on how to deal with his situation. Mr. Browne writes, “I’m sorry the year didn’t turn out to be a happy one for you, but I hope you take a little time to ask yourself why. Things happen to us, even the bad stuff, can often teach us a little about ourselves. Did you ever wonder why you had such a hard time with these two students?” (Palacio 377).
