Due to the her actions always staying true to her inner self and her support for Juliet, the Nurse is considered both a static and a flat character. The Nurse only goes through one dramatic change in emotions. Other than her one switch in emotions, the Nurse doesn’t go under any other significant changes. Emotions including regret, frustration, and depression, only amplify as the play goes on. They do not switch on and off. These emotions and all of the actions that the Nurse takes are all made because of her love for Juliet. The Nurses emotions are all based on how much she loves Juliet. When she goes to, “find Romeo to comfort,” her and bring him Juliet’s wedding ring, she is doing that because she loves Juliet so much (III. iii. 138-139).
