In the book, Emotionally Intelligent Leadership, the author discusses that to be a leader you must be able collaborate, and effectively work with others (Shankman). Being a leader isn’t a one-man show. You must be able to accept help from others, and be willing to listen to and understand your peer’s thoughts and feelings (Shankman). In the first module, Creating Clarity Module, I got a score of 55 out of 77. This is an okay score, but I could improve it by defining my goals and making sure my peers understand those goals. In the second and third modules, Sharing Power Module and Developing People Module, I got two very good scores of 73 out of 77 and 74 out of 77. As I was taking these two self-assessments, a lot of the desired leadership goals that I was being scored on are common leadership goals that teachers want to have. I want to be a teacher, so that would most likely be the reasoning behind these two high scores. Being a good leader in the classroom is expected of teachers. They should be able to make decisions for their class, and be willing to work with their students to push them to achieve their desired goals.
