The feedback given by the professor for my essay on Emotional Support Animals: Training for Public Safety, identifies that I need to learn what it means to use sourced material, how to write a better conclusion, and how to follow directions to improve from past mistakes. I will be completely honest that I was almost brought to tears because I thought that I followed all suggestions by my classmates and the feedback given from the last essay and that I improved significantly and felt great about my essay. In conclusion, all I can do is move on and keep trying to write better.

From the feedback given, I lack the use of sourced material. First, I was under the impression I was only allowed to use what I find in the APUS Library, I searched

In the text, The Emotional Lives of Animals, Marc Bekoff wants to shift the paradigm and the ways in which society views animals. In order to shift the dominant behavior and revise the stereotypes against animals, Bekoff uses various anecdotes throughout the text. In relation to this, he also mentions the field of cognitive ethology, which focuses on the study of animal minds.…

At the beginning of the year around the same time that the first essay assignment was being discussed and explained I began to think that the assignment was going to be somewhat easy. I began to search for books that seemed interesting to research, that I could use for the assignment. The selection process was one of the most time consuming parts of the assignment. I I gathered the final four books which were “Rebel Souls”, “Walt Whitman Reconsidered”, “Walt Whitman: A Gay Life”, and “Walt Whitman”. I began to realize that this essay was not as easy as I thought it was.…

I remember the first time I wrote an essay that was being graded at the college level. This was in my junior year when I took AP Language and Composition, our first essay was a rhetorical analysis essay from a very old excerpt that used old english and was very hard to read. When I first started reading the passage I started to get nervous because I didn't understand what the text was saying but then I started to annotate and the passage began to make sense. I found many rhetorical strategies that the author used and I then began to outline the essay in my head.…

As a young child at school, we had the Accelerated Reading Program. It was a program that encouraged children to read various books, and then after to take a quiz based on the books. This program really helped me, because the program pushed me to read more. Since I am bilingual, learning two languages as a child was a bit challenging for me, and learning how to read was even harder. I would sometimes mix up letters, vowels, and sometimes talk in Russian when I was supposed to talk in English.…

Rather than twisting off a cap of a prescription bottle and downing a pill or two with a swig of water, a rather unique form of treatment for mental illnesses is the use of emotional support animals (ESA for short). Contrary to service animals, an emotional support animal is not trained for a specific task other than providing comfort to someone suffering from a mental illness. ESAs have no restrictions on the breed or species of animal and can range from dogs to cats and even reptiles. Emotional support animals are normally the person’s pet before they are registered and therefore are hard to distinguish from other pets. While there is some controversy for the use of emotional support animals, consistent results from research and studies suggests…

Emotion has been a developing field in psychology for years now and recently expanded beyond understanding just human emotion. Self reflection is the mental process that acquires knowledge and understanding through thoughts and experience which helps encourage self awareness. This essay focuses on assessing my objectives and how I have developed my skills from the beginning of this semester until now. At the start of semester A, I wasn’t confident in preparing for the skills sessions and workshops. I began by listening to knowledge based lectures online and making notes alongside the recommended reading given by my lecturers or the module guide.…
