The Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire indicates that I do have a good basis for strong emotional intelligence however most of my responses indicate that my success in life and school could be negatively affected by my EI because I have to do things a certain way in a certain amount of time, or I drive myself crazy. I know that Flexibility is one of the main keys that I do need to work since I am really planned out. Maybe working on flexibility could help improve my EI.

The VARK Questionnaire indicates that my stepping distance 4 (more than 32). I have all four modes as my preference. This means that I learn in all four ways which are Visual, Aural, Read/Write, and Kinesthetic. For Visual, I learn in a way that I underline my notes or the ones I feel are important. For Aural, I talk with others or ask them to see if my notes are accurate and true. For Read/Write, I read my notes to myself over and over again. For kinesthetic I use all my senses including sight, hearing, touch, taste, and smell. I do have a weird way of learning, especially since I do not fit into a specific category.

I prefer working with hands-on projects. I love to get right on in without planning anything, or laying out the guidelines. I like things to go my way or else I get really frustrated easily. I do like to work with other people as long as they do realize it is a "group project" not their own. I would also prefer to keep on trying until I get it right rather than using common sense. I feel like with trial and error there is a lot more you learn from while

According to Shriberg & Shriberg, emotional intelligence (EI) is the ability to fully understand oneself and to relate well with others (page 91). Social intelligence is the ability to get along well with others and to get them to cooperate with you (page 93). Daniel Goldman’s theory on emotional intelligence is that it can be taught and has the ability to do the following: (page 91): • Motivate oneself and persist despite frustrations • Regulate one’s own moods • Empathize • Delay gratification • Handle stress well • Have verbal and nonverbal skills in sync • Have self/other acceptance/tolerance • Promote “group harmony”…

According to The Vark learning styles questionnaire the two learning styles that I learn best with best are aural and kinesthetic. Aural means I learn best when hearing the information spoken and by asking questions about the concept I am learning. The other way I learn best is being kinesthetic which means I use my five senses and hands on experiences to help me learn. The Aural side of me likes to remember stories, examples, and jokes, to be to relate them to the concept I am learning. I have found that I when attended class and really focus on what the instructor or professor is teaching I am able to grasp the concept that is being taught.…

Emotional intelligence is the ability to manage emotions in such a way that promotes positive outcomes in one’s life. Emotional intelligence also refers to a specific set of cognitive abilities associated with emotions. Intelligence is defined by Wechsler as “the aggregate or global capacity to of the individual to act purposefully, to think rationally, and to deal effectively with his or her environment.” (pg. 2). Based off of Wechsler’s definition of intelligence, I do consider emotional intelligence (EI) to be a true form of intelligence, because accurately managing one’s emotions is vital towards acting purposefully, thinking rationally, and dealing with his/her environment.…

Out of all 5 of my talents, Learner describes me the best. As cliché as it may sound, I really have a passion for learning. But my passion for learning extends far past just the usual sitting in class taking notes, or the usual memorization of subjects, instead it really reaches out to deeper depths where I really seek to master everything that is put into my head. I am not okay with only touching base on subjects or barely treading the surface of topics, rather I have to really dive into the text and pay close attention to all the details in order for me to grasp what is going on.…

Emotional intelligence can play a major role in the success of failure of a group activity (Cardon, 2013). Emotional intelligence is important because it effectively manages the emotions of the group. For instance, if each member of the group isn't capable of setting aside personal emotions it would be impossible to resolve any type of conflict within the group. Therefore, the group or project would not produce the necessary results. Groups that consist of members with high emotional intelligence typically produce superior outcomes.…

Kinesthetic learning is learning through experience from the application of your senses. I apply the kinesthetic learning style when it is available, such as labs for science, or on the job training. For myself this is the learning style where I can comprehend and understand the most as I will more likely be able to remember the experience. While the aural learning style is available to be used widely, kinesthetic learning is less broad. As a narrower field, it cannot always be practical to some things such as reading, or…

On the ‘Emotional Intelligence’ assignment, I find it very clear and straight forward; therefore, this journal will be kept simple. According to the Applied Exercise: Self-Assessment of Emotional intelligence (EQ) Skills, although my results are solid across the board, my weakness is Emotional and Self-awareness, not because there’s a lack of emotional control, but rather based on intolerance. Not that my emotional and self-awareness is terrible, this weakness derives from telling others my true feelings and being impatient with non-sense. The older I get, the more impatient I become, because seeing people waste precious time that will never return, creates intolerance; after all, I work extremely hard, my parents do and their generation as…

A component to any healthy relationship is the emotional intelligence of the parties involved. As Army officers, relationships with peers, subordinates, and seniors are tremendously important. Therefore, the emotional intelligence of an officer should be a point of development and reflection. Having recently taken the Trait Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire (TEIQue) and reviewed the results, I am generally unsurprised by the results. However, the portion that raised the most interest for me was the analysis of each field and how my score affected those around me.…

    1) Report- From completing module 4 I have learnt and experienced what it means to understand and how to manage my emotions and emotional intelligence. Through learning about the nature of my emotions such as the valence and intensity, has given me the ability to make better decisions and cope with stressors in a healthier way. How technology also affects my emotions was interesting as I was able to relate with many of the influences provided in the module. I have gained a much broader mindset of my emotions throughout studying module 4, and I believe that this knowledge will help me not only at university but throughout the rest of my life.…

Emotional Intelligence I believe I am lacking emotional intelligence because I don’t always manage my emotions well, but I can stay motivated when things are difficult in my life. There are many examples I could use, but I feel like the most recent would work best. Just a couple weeks ago I experienced myself acting irrationally towards my parents and I was neglecting their feelings, it all started when I began college. My parents were having a hard time with the transition of me not being home anymore and they were always calling and texting me wanting to know what I was doing, and it became very aggravating. My parents became too overwhelming and would not leave me alone, I eventually just stop responding for a while or when I was…
