He came in with paint all over him, and he wasn’t appropriately dressed for the interview. He was honest with the interviewers and took responsibility for going to jail for unpaid parking tickets. He knew that he was the primary cause of his experience and outcome. He also decided to keep his son with him while his mother went to New York. He was financially unstable and was being evicted, but he still took responsibility to care for his son. Chris also took responsibility for losing his medical devices throughout the movie. If he lost one it was like losing a month’s worth of groceries, and he would stop what he was doing to try to get it back.
Conclusion
Many things can happen in our life that will make us want to give up and make us feel that we aren’t worthy of happiness. Chris went through some very difficult things in his life during the movie. Before taking this class, I really don’t know if I could have kept going like he did. I have not only learned the importance of self -responsibility, I have learned how important motivation and self-awareness are needed in order for me to succeed.
