On the other hand, Donald Trump the Republican Party candidate that ran aside Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential debate. It was seen from the beginning that Donald Trump had a very different way of portraying himself compared to Hillary Clinton. Emotional intelligence is very important when people look at examine the possible effectiveness of a leader. They will examine the different aspects seen in emotional intelligence and see how the potential leader demonstrates those qualities. Donald Trump from the very first debate, was seen to show a rather low level of emotional intelligence, and that never really changed throughout the three debates.

There are different qualities that are seen in individuals who are seen as effective leaders, and those qualities are typically seen in mostly all effective leaders. Leadership is something that is hard to define because some many people may view leadership in a different way. Personal experience plays a role in how an individual may view leadership. There are multiple different theories that are used to try and define leadership, however, there is no single correct theory. When it comes to what makes a good leader, there are different qualities that the effective leaders tend to share. These qualities are examined and when an individual show strong levels of those qualities they have a higher chance of becoming an effective leader. One of the most important qualities is, emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence is a key factor in effective leadership. There are different qualities that make up emotional intelligence, and when an individual shows high levels of each of those qualities they have a higher chance of being an effective leader. Throughout the 2016 presidential debate, both candidates showed different levels of emotional intelligence. The way in which these candidates represented their emotions during the debates gives a good insight as to the level of emotional intelligence they have. This also can be a good predictor as to how in fact they be as leaders. Leaders hold great power, which can be seen both as positive and negative. However, there is no single predictor as to how a leader will turn out, nor if they show all the qualities of effective leaders that they in fact will be
