That old saying, “No one loves you like your mother”, rings true now that I am older and have finally came to the realization that it could not be more true. She demonstrates her affection through hugs and kisses, she continuously asks how my day went, and treats me to lunch as a reward of my hard work. The amount of joy my mom shows for me is overwhelming because of the ways she expresses it. In addition to being a joyous person she is both physically and emotionally strong after starting her life of hardships.

Her senior year of high school started. Already being 18 years old she was the last daughter to graduate so her parents decided to move to Florida. With nowhere else to go she decided to stay there and live with her older sister in her apartment. After graduation she started her first job at McDonald’s for a year which she viewed as a decent job. She then went to Trident Technical College, a community college in Charleston for a semester and a half. About 21 years old she quit college and moved to San Diego with her other sister, Tess, and her husband. She found a job and worked as a secretary publishing airplane magazines for a year which she enjoyed. Then she met my dad at a club and moved to Washington where he got stationed. Eight years later they had me.
Before I was born my mom was preparing for every little thing yet to come. She had my dad, grandma, and aunt by her side to help. After a few months we lived in Hawaii until I was four. My dad used to tell me how proud my mom was of me. She was proud of this one moment when I was only three years old, because when she used to push me in the stroller through town, everyone walking by would compliment how beautiful I was. Even though she’s a small person she is always full of energy. She taught me to always be kind, caring, and honest and never let anyone push me around. She has helped me grow physically and intellectually. When my friends would come over she would always have a meal ready for all of us, or even when my dad comes home from work. She’s the kind of mom who likes to cook, which I love. She is also the type of mom to give out hugs to all of my friends like she hasn 't seen them in forever.
One of my favorite quality time hang outs to do with her is to go out for lunch and look for good deals in the mall. While we 're out she would always wants to have one of those mother daughter talks, which I hate. So I just let her talk and I just agree but barely pay attention at the same time. Now that I’m older and I have a sense of what the world is like but she still gives me tips.
