According to Emot “If facial expressions of emotion were delivered uniformly each and every time an emotion was elicited, eventually all of us would be near perfect perceivers of others” (Emot, 2011). I am generally an open person and others are able to detect my feelings and emotions with ease. I believe this to be because I am a friendly person and generally have a smile on my face. For example, I was in a men’s meeting at church. This meeting was unorganized and I was beginning to get frustrated. However, I was a little shocked because, just five years ago I was told by my mom I was emotionally disconnected to others and their feelings. Furthermore, now I feel a little to overly connected to others feelings and emotions. I received an 84/100 on the EQ test, which is quiet high in comparison to most other I know. I with in the community with students, parents, teachers and administors and I am able to measure the difference levels of emotional connection. I can sense when the administrators and teachers are emotionally on the same page as the students. I personally feel emotionally connected with most situations I encounter and it ultimately helps me build the bridge between the families in our community and the students in which the San Bernardino City Unified School District serves.
In conclusion, there are three aspects of emotionally healthy person. Being emotional aware, involving the capability to recognize your own emotions and those of others. The aptitude to control emotions and apply them to intelligent and problems solving. In addition, harnessing the power to direct emotions, including the skill to adjust your own emotions, and the capacity to comfort or de-escalate another
