The plot, setting, conflict, and characters are relatable and believable. The plot of drinking way too much is relatable due to the feelings we face while under the influence. A feeling of not being in-control of our own bodies and acting crazy. The setting of falling into peer pressure and the conflict of drinking too much is something most people have been through before. Being a young adult myself, I think it will be very hard for teens and young adults to really understand the deeper message embedded in Lamar’s lyrics. Many times we only listen to a song and forget that the lyrics can contain a powerful message. Music videos often show expectations of drinking alcohol as a way to cope with problems, but this is something the media and artists need to get away from.
