A goulash of sweet summer smells pivots through the sleek, cozy environment, and the joyous feeling of a great Georgia summer day starts spreading. While I was listening to the radio, a song came up. While looking, it felt as the trees tumbled and danced beside the highway, dancing peacefully as I turned up the volume louder. The song was very exciting, and the spirit of joy within myself increased tremendously. The song was called “Good Feeling” by Flo Rida. The highlight of the night was this soothing and rejuvenating song entering my body.
Ever since listening to this song, I continuously listened to it many countless times. As you may know, music is all about emotions. In my experience, no matter what music you listen to, it all has an

Many times while driving to school, the radio did not seem much appealing to me. At most times I felt certain that music was not in my category for motivation or simply for pleasure. At that time, not even Drake, Justin Bieber, or Beyoncé really seemed to hit my jackpot. However, Flo Rida allows me to recapture music in a joyous experience like opening up those lovely Christmas gifts. Even though the song is almost four years old, this song has become a great source of light and started to barge into my life bit by bit. I believe this song has the capability to affect me emotionally and physically in a positive way. The song “Good Feeling" by Flo Rida is like an ecstatic and stimulating song that any level age will enjoy. I always feel of adrenaline running through my veins, especially when I run on a treadmill, giving me an ultimate power to easily run five miles without stopping like Usain Bolt. One particular line that draws me in is, “Got adrenaline, never giving in Giving up 's, not an option, gotta get it in witness, I got the heart of 20 men No fear, go to sleep in the lion 's den. That flow, that spark, that crown you looking at the king of the jungle now.” The effect of the lyrics can turn out to be that one spark in life patiently waiting to be the ultimate fire we crave for in our hearts. The aftermath that Flo Rida provides always comes abutting, as it can gather us to gushing levels of feeling satisfied with ourselves or simply just a better mood

A few years ago, one of my good friends sent me some songs to listen to by a band that I had never heard of called Twenty One Pilots. Their sound was completely different from anything I had ever heard before, containing some rap, a ukulele, and a piano all in one album. No one song sounded like the other, but they all contained one common element: some type of deep message hidden in the lyrics. At first, I rejected the band, not liking the way the music sounded, but when I listened again, really paying attention to the lyrics this time, I fell in love immediately. Somehow, these short 3 minute songs by this almost totally unknown duo had utterly changed my entire perspective on life, and on the effects of music in particular.…

Foreword Before delving into the prescribed analysis as required by this assignment, I feel it necessary to provide some background as to why I chose this song as I could have seemingly chosen any other just as easily; however, throughout my troubled years, I found myself frequenting not only this song, but the entire album as well. In my younger years, back when i enjoyed the company of my older siblings on a daily basis before their departure to college, we all struggled in our dealings with our alcoholic, emotionally abusive father. Ironically, the broken bonds shared between my father, my siblings and I initiated the bittersweet genesis of the unbreakable bonds I am so lucky to share with each of my siblings. None, however, compare to the relationship my brother and I kindled out of the ashes of our house’s burnt and broken foundation.…

Music is powerful and can cause people to dig deep in order to find its true meaning. However, two people may never agree on the meaning of a song because they interpret it differently. Another point is that “themes or pieces need not express only one emotion” (Copland). People can grab multiple emotions from a single piece. These emotions can allow people to go different places in their head and even to reflect on their life.…

Throughout the years, Hip Hop music has been looked at as a genre with no meaning other than talking about drugs and money. However, there are a few rappers who truly do talk about a bigger picture and what really matters in the world. Chicago artist, Lupe Fiasco, is indeed one of those artists. In many of his songs he digs deeper into the problems that everyday people struggle with and offers hope to the world. Possibly the most prevalent reason for listening to music is to regulate emotions. A study performed by Adam Lonsdale and Adrian North found that nearly 96 percent of people listen to music for the purpose of managing their current emotional state (Lonsdale & North 120). Being the lyrical genius she is, Swift created the song "Blank Space" in 2014 to defend her position with this preconceived notion. She uses many rhetorical devices to explain her position in this argument against the media. Hip-hop is arguably the biggest influence on today’s youth. Being born in the 1990’s, I was able to witness the positive and negative influences hip-hop has had on my generation, as well as be a part of the audience that has brought hip-hop to be as prevalent around the world as it is today. Now, as the artists of my generation were raised by hip-hop, these same artists will be responsible for the future of hip-hop. I did not always like hip-hop, so my first impression of it came with a bad taste. I remember as a kid I was too young to know the difference between genres, or understand music as a whole for that matter.…
