As a resident of Georgia, I have always considered Emory in the horizon of my “backyard”. I have been a previous patient of Emory for parathyroid surgery, and my mother is currently a patient there as well for her thyroid cancer condition. Visiting Emory, I was able to see and experience firsthand how well Emory treats its patients, faculty, and its students. I found the culture of Emory warm and inviting. Emory’s MD/PhD program also thoroughly supports its students in all capacities of learning, and I can foresee myself excelling in its program in such an environment that encourages student growth.
