The purpose of this report was to investigate the normality of the culture by researching its beliefs, values, music, fashion and attitudes. Its purpose was to show its history over the past and how important it is to some people. In the report, most information was collected by secondary research, through websites, blogs, magazine articles and research reports. The secondary sources were collected through online websites, blogs and magazine articles. It was known as a music genre in the 1990s, but has come to describe several forms of music with common roots and related to fashion and stereotypes. Taking from the research, the thesis statement was proved true. This is because throughout the research emo seems to be one of the more consumer-driven subcultures, and one of the most brand-obsessed. 1.2The reason that I chose “Emo” is because it is very unique cultural paradigm. Emo is not jut only about the style of music like almost everyone thought. It is also about emotional state of mind and the way emo people express themselves.
1.3Emo is originated as a music genre in the early 1990s. It is close to punk and rock music. However, it is known as ‘emotional hardcore’ or “emocore’. Unlike hardcore rock, this is more of an alternative way to let emotional people’s feeling be known. Emo is just not only about the style of music. It is more about fashion and a way of feeling, hence the emotional. ‘Emo’ people often wear tight pants. They have dyed-black or dark hair that often covers their faces. The longer hair in front with the spikes in the back is also a more Emo or emotional style.
