Emmy Noether

Emmy Noether, a German mathematician, gained he popularity and respect through being one of the most creative in Algebraist in Modern times. Emmy Noether was born March 23, 1882 in Erlangen, Germany. She was the daughter of the mathematician, Max Noether.

Emmy Noether was a certified English and French teacher in 1900. She chose to study mathematics at the University of Erlangen, but women were only allowed to audit the class with the permission of the instructor. During the winter of 1903-1904, Emmy spent the winter auditing classes at the University of Gottingen. The classes were taught by mathematicians, David Hilbert, Herman Minkowski, and astronomer Karl Schwarzschild. Later, she returned to Erlangen in 1904, and received a PH.
