He played 12 seasons with the Dallas Cowboys and became one of the best running backs to ever play the game. His first season playing in the NFL he had immediate success with 937 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns in 1990, earning NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year honors. Smith helped the team win 3 Super Bowl Championships in 1993, 1994, and 1996. He had an outstanding performance on the field at Super Bowl XXVIII, and won the MVP honor in 1994. Smith became the first person to rush for more than 1,000 yards in 11 consecutive seasons. He was also the first person in NFL history with five straight seasons with over 1,400 rushing yards. In 2002, he broke the rushing record to become the leading rusher in NFL history. Smith finished his last two seasons playing for the Arizona Cardinals, after those last two seasons; Smith signed a one day contract with Dallas in February 2005 and retired as a Cowboy. He holds several Cowboys franchise records, including rushing yards with 17, 162 rushing yards. Smith was welcomed into the Dallas Cowboys Ring of Honor in 2005.
