According to Albanese (2014), the ethics of utilitarianism the solution of a situation is more important than the action itself, it’s all about the outcome that relates to the consequences. In the case of the Houston Police Chief the aspect of utilitarianism would put focus on the outcome the Lawyer is trying to gain not the action that occurred itself. According to Cooper (2015), he had medical expenses of $14,000, but that wasn’t the outcome he was seeking $200,000 from HPD. It’s been over two and half years and the agreement of the settlement reached has not been disclosed yet. The process of Utilitarianism in this case is questionable, because of the fact we don’t know if the final outcome the Lawyer was seeking was reached, which was $200,000.
