ELMIRA (WENY) - One Elmira woman is in the hospital after getting in a brawl involving a baseball bat Thursday evening.
The Elmira Police Department says the 40-year-old victim is suffering from a fractured skull and bleeding on the brain after being hit in the head with a metal baseball bat. Police arrested 19-year-old Alexis Driscoll, of Elmira, and charged her with first-degree assault for allegedly hitting the victim in the back of the head with the metal bat. Multiple police officers were called out to the 600 block of Gray Street when a fight broke out Thursday night. Police say several people were armed with baseball bats, shovels and sticks. They say about 20 to 25 people were involved.
