Censorship is when speech, public communication or other information that can be considered harmful or offensive to certain parts of the public is removed or covered from certain things such as music or television. In Eminem songs he has to use censorship in his music played on the radio or where younger people can access it because a lot of his music is considered offensive to different nationalities, genders and sexualities. To get past this in his music videos he will have an explicit one and one that isn’t as offensive to the public. In the less offensive video certain words will be changed or censored and gestures such as swearing and sexual references will be blurred or in the music video for Without Me because it’s a super hero comic styled video there are graphics related to the style of the video covering the gestures. The passive audience allows information from media to be ‘injected’ not questioning the information. The active audience argues and questions the media it sees and tries to find other versions of the media (like double checking).
Hypodermic needle model can also be known as the hypodermic-syringe model. The theory of this model is that the media is using the model to influence the audience and they are getting the response back immediately.
It is suggested that a media messages are injected directly into the brain of a passive audience, this suggest that we are all the same they think that we all respond to media messages the same as well.
The Hypodermic theory influences the audience on how we talk about the media, people believe that the mass media has a powerful. Some parents worry about, the influence on the television and video
