The self-esteem is part of the Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs theory of the Motivation aspect of Psychology. The theory argues that all of the human beings’ needs are classified in five different ranks: the physiological needs, the safety needs, the belonging and love needs, the self-esteem needs and the need of self-actualization. The most basic need, physiological, must be satisfied if one desires to achieve the highest rank needs: self-actualization. The World of Psychology, by Samuel Wood, explains that the demand of the self-esteem is to accomplish a task and to gain recognition for it (Wood, 2010). Eminem already satisfied his previous needs despite the hard times he went through. He worked a job that enabled him to bring food on the table, he lived in a house with a family.
