On the topic of best artist and bands, people have many different opinions. Some people dislike pop, rap, or country, where as some people absolutely love those genres. Everybody has different opinions, and because of that people get into debates like these. Eminem is the better artist over Shakira, and Linkin Park because he started from rock bottom, building his own career, he’s not afraid to speak up and talk about rough topics, and he was won 15 Grammy’s and even more other awards.

Eminem covers topics that may be tough for others to talk about, but that many people can relate to. This attracts people who are or were at the same point in life as him. A good example is in Eminem's song “Sing for the Moment” when he says “...what bothers him all comes out, when he talks about his dad walkin’ out. ‘Cause he just hates him so bad that he blocks him out…”

He started from rock bottom, and built his career out of nothing. Eminem came from a rough family and really did not make it out untill 2000. Before he was famous, he worked many jobs to support his wife and daughter, who he divorced from later on. He remarried and then divorced the same woman again, then was stuck in a custody battle for his daughter Hailie. He has written songs to and about his daughter and ex-wife apologizing and talking about what happened with them. In the song “Mockingbird” he tells his daughter “Hailie I know you miss your mom and I know you miss your dad, When I'm gone but I'm trying to give you the life that I never had.” He is so open with his life, and what has happened to him and he knows there are other people who relate to what he raps about. He does this for himself, but at the same time, he does it for those he knows will benefit from his music.
