The individual I chose to write my essay on is Marshall Bruce Mathers, or more commonly known as Eminem/Slim Shady. He was born on October 17, 1972 in Kansas City, Missouri. He is a very popular rapper and personally my favorite artist who has actually had a big impact on me. Eminem has had a very eventful life in both very positive and also very negative ways. I chose to write my paper on this individual because he has a very distinct attitude. Meaning that he is a very unique individual and he is not afraid to express his thoughts freely and stand up for what he thinks and believes in, no matter what the consequences are. Also, antisocial personality disorder is linked to a history of childhood adversity and maltreatment. Its shown that adults with anti-personality disorder had high rates of been beat and having a parent that had a substance use disorder a, went to jail, or attempted suicide. Which Eminem did face as well. We know Eminem’s mother Deborah had a substance use disorder and we know that Eminem was beat as well. He is also easily angry and quite impulsive, and also does and especially says thing that are not the norms of our society. This disorder is basically defined by having out of control emotions, a hypersensitivity to abandonment, a tendency to cling too tightly too others, and a history of hurting oneself. This disorder means one second the individual can feel so down at a low like they are of zero importance and then the next second they feel of importance but necessary by some support. These individuals’ interpersonal relationships are unstable. They constantly worry about being abandoned and fear rejection. There moods are very unstable, mixed with feelings of sever depression, anxiety, or anger. Individuals with this disorder experience dramatic mood swings, and have reactions making it difficult for these individuals to maintain jobs, complete school and have long lasting relationships. 80% of individual with borderline personality disorder display suicidal behaviors as
