The theme of “Death, be not proud” is about eternal life. John Donne, the poet treat “Death” as a person and tells him that he does not have the authority to end a person’s life but only God can. Jesus Christ had created all human beings, animals and nature and because of this, He holds the power. Similarly, “Because I could not stop for Death” poem also consists of the same theme, eternity.
