From Emile Cohl's, Fantasmagorie, to Pixar's upcoming movie, Coco, animation has been around for many years to entertain the audience. With animation, people can take an idea and give it life. Some ways people can make animations is by computer programs, drawing frame by frame, and even stop motion. Even though animations are fun to watch, the animators who created the animations had to go through various amounts of tasks and obstacles to get to where they are. From the amount of requirements and expectations to the very competitive field, becoming an animator is challenging.

Depending on what company or who the animator works for, their time requirements will be different. For example, "While freelancers set their own hours, those within a corporate environment usually work a standard 40-hour workweek. Overtime may be required if there are specific deadlines" (Lenburg). Time is very crucial in animations. That is why time-management is a requirement, so the animator can make a timeline on what the plan to do and when it will be done. For working 40 hours, the pay is well. The salary you earn is reasonable for the education you need because you need a Bachelor's degree in order to be considered in this field. With the hours and yearly wages, someone who might be in debt from loans will be able to pay the loans off. The field of animation is growing and will be growing for a few years. Even though one has to go through this, and trying to surpass the competition, it is worth it.
