All literature figures play a key role to shape the history of the world; within American literature, authors and poets alike create unique stories of fiction and non-fiction novels. Some are easy to read but others will take time to understand, depending on the level of reading that the reader carries. American literature within history should be cherished to everyone to instill the spirit and tradition passing to the next generation. “The Masque of the Red Death” was written by one of the most famous authors, Edgar Allen Poe. What made the story great to many readers around the globe, the time, location and place wasn’t established. The story discusses about a party event and each room represents a different theme. All the themes within the story discuss the birth and death of an individual involving natural causes or an act of nature killing where death is dealt intentionally. Prince Prospero was the host of the gathering; participants were required to wear masks to conceal identities. Emerson’s flaw was the write up of “Ode to Beauty” by using someone else’s work and creates similarities as the original poem. The poem was a similar song concept as Ode to Joy written by a different author. Of course both write ups are a masterpiece. As a real writer and poet, it is best to write a story from the heart rather than using someone else’s work. It helps separate the best author and bad author when creating literature. With the death of his wife at an early age, it created the drive to make literature as a distinction to keep making stories that creates differences in various cultures.
