The effects of stress and how it impacts a person is a topic of significance especially to emerging adults. The focus of this research is to explore the topic of stress and how it impacts emerging adulthood. Emerging adulthood, which is the stage occurring between adolescence and young adulthood is a time where a person’s physical functioning has reached its peak, their self-esteem has risen, many of the most important steps in identity development take place and they develop postformal thinking which correlates with pragmatism and reflective judgement. There is no physical location, but they recruit students at the beginning of the Fall and Spring semester. Students can find more information about each organization by going to the tables located on the 7th Street Plaza. Being a part of this program allows students to meet new people and develop leadership and social skills. By joining Greek Life, students are able to combat stress through meeting new people and being in a different environment where they can socialize. This resource allows students to become more open in a fun atmosphere and be part of a community that can create a more memorable college experience (SJSU, 2016). Another campus resource that students should be a part of in a social aspect would be Student Involvement. The purpose of Peer Connections is to provide students with free mentoring and tutoring services and also allows students to attend workshops that can help them in their studies. When students feel stressed or overwhelmed about adjusting to college life or feel stressed about completing certain assignments, students can come to Peer Connections for guidance and help in those areas. Attending workshops allows students to become more knowledgeable about topics that may stress them such as studying skills and time management (SJSU, 2016). Another campus resource would be the Division of Student Affairs. The purpose of the Division of Student Affairs is to provide assistance to students and focuses on their growth and success. This resource emphasizes healthy living which helps students make informed decisions to enhance their personal health, and by participating in this resource, students can create a strong identity that can help them with their struggles.
