The research showed how hope and sexual assaults may increase and decrease the risk of suicide.
Results showed people who have high hopes have lower risk for suicide, regardless of being sexually assaulted or not. People who have low hope and have been sexually assaulted before has higher risk for suicide.
Even though friends with benefits do not push emerging adults into depression and suicide, sexual assaults and identifying with the LGBT community has a higher risk of pushing emerging adults into suicide thoughts.
