As an aspiring Emergency Physician Assistant, I know that the medical field is rewarding in all aspects. I currently am enrolled in Medical Careers, a program offered by DCTS, and have gotten to see emergency medical services in action. My first clinical rotation was in the Emergency Room, and I knew since then that this is what I want to do with my life. Shortly after I entered the department, a John Doe came to the unit; a code blue. Paramedics followed him in, and the nurse I shadowed worked on the patient. Luckily, I was allowed to enter the room and see the entire process play out. Watching the team of nurses, PAs, physicians, and techs work together to save this stranger’s life instilled in me the desire to do this one day, and hopefully
