In choosing an organization of which I am very familiar to discuss the three models of organizations we have discussed in class, I have decided to examine my high school due to its position within the school system, the specifics of the program core to its mission and its interaction with its locations neighboring towns. The high school I attended was named CIBA and was a very small, non-profit, public, magnet school. The overarching organizational goal was to educate students, providing the necessary support in order for them to graduate. However, there was a specific academic focus in my school, called the International Baccalaureate (IB) program, which led to a secondary goal, of almost equal importance, to have us pass our IB exams and…

My approach for students to gain these opportunities is reflected in the model I have established following support tools for student services by challenging students growth and development by challenging their educational and leadership opportunities. Also by guiding students to commit to their own educational experience, develop their own set of morals and beliefs and establish goals for their future career. Lastly, it is important provide students with community to establish their identity as emerging adults, provide a safe living and learning environment, and a supportive community for growth, development, and self-exploration. I believe that my personal philosophy will continue to adjust and develop as I continuously work with students but it is important to be willing to adjust my approach to Student Affairs as both the field and the students are continuously changing and evolving.…

Creswell (2014) explains that Qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods approaches are three approaches to research. He defines qualitative research as “An approach for exploring and understanding the meaning individuals or groups ascribe to a social or human problem” (p. 4). Creswell and Poth (2017) discuss in great details their five qualitative approaches to inquiry: narrative, phenomenological, grounded theory, ethnographic, and case study. Leadership Model According to the American College of Education, there are three possible leadership domains; Instructional Leadership, School and Community Leadership, and Administrative Leadership.(Jandes, 2013, Week 3, Part 1, Slides 2-5) To be a very good educational leader, you must be able to balance between all three and show an understanding in all three domains. If I had to pick a domain that I believe and will adhere to it is the School and Community Leadership Domain because I understand that I need every stakeholder to help change a culture of a school. I have been a baseball coach in Arizona for 17 years and I have worked with parents and community leaders almost on a daily basis to help fund a program. I feel that the…
