Iris sat on the edge of her pool, dipping her legs in and out of the cool water. Next to her sat her closest friend, Taylor, they had been best friends since Iris had first moved to the rich community of Emerald Cove three short years ago. The girls sat in perfect silence on the edge of the pool on that warm, Saturday afternoon. Prom was in a few weeks so they decided it would be best to get started on getting the absolute perfect tan. Before Iris moved to Emerald Cove her life was miserable. She was slightly overweight and had a horrible case of acne and she was a bit of a nerd, so of course kids in her 8th grade class teased her. So she went on a diet, did crazy things to get rid of her acne yet the kids still teased her.
