Technology is not a right, but a privilege, and when abused, that privilege will be taken away. Students are constantly finding loopholes in the rules set by administrators. This is only a problem if their work ethic, responsibility, and trustworthiness are lacking. What it really comes down to is that technology was originally created for students, meant to be used by students, and will inevitably be improved by students, which is why we need to educate them on proper use. Using technology in learning environments is beneficial to students because it will behoove their futures, both in a sense of technological education and in their careers. Technology is constantly evolving, improving, and reinventing itself, so we cannot expect students to be actively a part of a community when they do not have the basic skills navigate today's technology.
