Governor Bruce Rauner and the current budget cuts are causing havoc on social service agencies, and the clients they service. There has been a substantial change and reduction of services provided to the clientele due to this fiasco. The Emages social service agency is standing steadfast with the new changes. They are feeling the budget cut but continue to strive and empower their clients. The founder, Dr.Wash and CEOs of Emages were smart to think ahead, for they have a prudent reserve set aside to cover unexpected expenses. Emages has battled budget cuts before; thus far, has never seen it so severely. The paper will discuss in detail the services they offer and give more insight into how the agency works. Emages stand for establishing, managing, and generating effective services. The address is 110 East 79th Street, Chicago, Illinois 60619. The company is accessible by train or bus. Emages came about when a group of four ladies wanted to create an agency designed to meet the basic needs of African Americans. Each was going to take a part in the organization; however, that did not work out, so she stepped out on faith and created Emages, Inc in 1992 as a not-for-profit agency (Dr. Wash, personal communication, March 10, 2016). The organization's goal is to help clients move forward and transform their lives. Emages teach clients to address problems instead of making excuses. According to Kirst-Ashman & Hull (2015), an organization is defined as a collectivity of individuals gathered together to serve a particular purpose. Organizations are goal oriented and intentionally structured. Likewise, organizations are linked to external environments such as individuals, groups, communities, and government
