In 1958, Elvis was drafted into the U.S. Army and trained in Hood, Texas for six months. Following his training Elvis was assigned to go and serve overseas in Germany. While in Germany Elvis met his future wife Priscilla at a house party. Elvis served in Germany for 18 months before he was discharged in 1960. After Elvis was discharged ABC aired a Frank Sinatra’s Welcome Home, Elvis show to welcome Elvis back the army. He then recorded his next album called GI Blues which is about his time in service. After this album Elvis’s fame when down a bit, but he was sure to get it back ("Home”).
