Though he seemed apprehensive at times, he had a big personality that would light up anyone’s day. Many people did not enjoy Presley’s flamboyant personality, long greased-back wild hair, or his wild clothing combinations, but told people “I’m just a poor boy from Tennessee, I’ve gotten a lot from my country. And I’d like to do something to repay what I’ve gotten”(David…

According to the Rolling Stone magazine, Presley had originally developed empathy for African Americans since he came from a poor white family who can understand the miserable lives of poor blacks. Feeling empathy toward the black, Presley was described as a bridge to introduce black’s favorite music to the white community. Thus, he was successful brought the rhythm and blues heroes, such as Chuck Willis, Chuck Berry, and the Drifters, to become more familiar and well-known among white America. The biggest challenge in Sinatra’s career was dealing with and accepting the changes in the music business. Around the 1950s and 1960s, Sinatra’s career began to drop as people’s interest now turned to new, upcoming music: “[Sinatra] was left with a shrinking audience and his own stubborn good taste” (Sinatra, Tina par. 22). Sinatra’s own daughter was able to see how her father’s popularity was starting to get worse because of his own “stubborn good taste”. William Ruhlmann, a well-known writer of American popular music, stated that Sinatra’s musical director, Mitch Miller, wanted Sinatra to sing “gimmicky arrangements” by using “novelty material.”…

Writing an object biography means looking at the object 's history, from the moment it was made to the moment it disappeared, or to the present if the object still exists. Object biographies are passive narratives, because objects are inherently inanimate. An object biography will consequently not look at what the object 'accomplished ' during its lifetime, but rather, how the surroundings of the object transformed it through time. A biography can thus concentrate on several themes, or several changes, that the object went through. These changes can be physical, such as the modification of the appearance of the object, or changes of location.…
