Throughout the story, you are constantly reminded that Elnora had a very rough beginning to her life. For almost 16-18 years she was neglected and had to care for herself. The character of Elnora was incredible. She decided to love and respect her mother even though her mother had not done anything to earn Elnora’s love. Elnora’s mother disrespected, humiliated, and worked Elnora like no young girl should have been treated, and still kept a cool head and treated her mother with love without ever once disrespecting her.
