I have chosen to do my research paper on entrepreneur, investor, inventor and CEO Elon Musk. Elon is the CEO of several different companies. The company I would like to focus on is his revolutionary space transport company, Spacex. In 2001, Elon came up with an idea called mars oasis. This project consisted of landing a small greenhouse on mars to observe if crops would grow. To do this Elon journeyed to Moscow in 2002 for his second time, after being criticized the first time in 2001 for being remarked as inexperienced, to purchase a Dnepr Intercontinental ballistic missile. Elon wished to purchase the missile in hopes of sending cargo to space. After being given an offer of 8 million for the rocket, Elon declined saying that it was overpriced.

The board of the company consists of Elon and his brother Kimbal Musk as director. Next there is a CFO, President & COO, CIO, propulsion CTO, and legal that make up the first network and answer to the board of directors but mainly Elon. Lastly, there is a functionalist second network that takes orders from the higher first network. The company is a private company that is in the aerospace industry. Products that the company have completed are the Falcon launch vehicles, dragon capsules, and ASDS landing platforms. Spacex offers to both private and public organizations, the capability to transport cargo and other objects to space. Notable cliental include OrbComm, the U.S. Air Force, and MDA corporation, this is only naming a few. In May 2012, Spacex had been capable to operate with precisely 1 billion dollars 10 years after the company was born. Sometime in 2017 Boeing and Spacex plan on transporting astronauts to the International Space Station. All though this will be a huge leap for the Spacex it is very threatening to the company. Spacex uses a strategy for fueling their rockets after the astronauts have boarded instead of the fueling process happening before the astronauts board to increase safety. The threatening part of this is that if anything goes wrong during this flight with two living passengers on board, it could lead to a decrease in credibility in the company which will ultimately kill sales for the company and may dismantle the
