Elmira, N.Y. (WENY) -- As the push for Uber in Upstate New York continues, a city in our area is joining in on the fight.

On Tuesday, Elmira City Council will vote on a measure to support Uber in the city. Uber is currently banned from operating outside of the New York City area. Proposed regulations allowing Uber to move into upstate have failed in the Legislature.

City council will vote on the resolution, and if it passes they'll send their letter of support to State Senator Tom O'Mara and Assemblyman Chris Friend.City Council will also vote on a resolution to tackle the issue of zombie properties.

They are looking to hire a consulting firm to address vacant, abandoned and blighted properties in Elmira. The firm will look
