Americans often take freedom for granted. In this country, we have the freedom of speech, freedom of religion and freedom of the press, just to name a few. In some countries, they do not have any of these. As Americans we grow up thinking our freedoms are our unalienable rights nature but, in fact, they are not. It is a piece of history itself. With so many historical events that happened in the Big Apple, one cannot help but to contemplate the meaning of life. Whether it be the 9/11 memorial or the Statue of Liberty. Upon arriving at the 9/11 memorial and museum the feelings of looming death and sadness were evident. The two beautiful fountains were flowing peacefully and there were hundreds of names surrounding them. Visiting the museum is a very emotional experience and it has changed me immensely. I haved not personally been affected by 9/11,. bBut listening to the many stories and seeing the tragedy that happened, I realized that they could have been one of my loved ones that died on that day. While in the museum one stands right where the many people were right before their death. It is a surreal experience, there are pictures of what the offices looked like before and now those offices cease to exist. Instead, the twin towers are just one giant room.
