Ella Enchanted Characters

The character Ella in Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson LeVine is interesting for three main reasons. One is that Ella is kind and caring and she loves everybody and she’s nice. She is nice to everyone she meets. I think she can be friends with everyone if she tries to be! Second, she isn't how you normally think of a lady. She runs away from her finishing school, and goes on a long journey to find the fairy who cursed her. When she is captured by ogres, she doesn’t wait for her “prince charming” to save her (pg. 88). She actually ends up saving him! Ella doesn't really stop to think of the consequences. She does her best in each situation and normally gets out of it safely. In conclusion, Ella from the book Ella Enchanted is a very interesting

The character Kidd makes me particularly admire was Lily. The traits she showed throughout the story showed how strong mentally and emotionally she is. Being a child and going through many hardships such as her mother dying and her father verbally abusing her shows the emotional toughness she has. “ I knew that the explosion I'd heard that day had killed her. The sound still sneaked into my head once in a while and surprised me.…

After listing to “I get a kick out of you”, I believe the classic song was better performed by Ella Fitzgerald instead of Ethel Merman. I enjoyed the overall classic of the lyrics and see why standards are important for many singers to know and interpret differently. The vocal style of the singer was very different. Ethel’s vocal style of singing is more aggressive and it seemed somewhat rushed but had a whimsical feel. While Ella’s vocal style is more laid back because she takes her time to sing the words of the song and puts soul into it.…

In Countee Cullen's "What Do I Marvel", there is no opposition to the utilization of established references, all the more particularly, using Greek mythology. Lines 5-8 reference Greek myths Sisyphus and Tantalus. Sisyphus was penalized by rolling a stone up a slope and, after the stone moving down, needed to keep moving it back up in an never ending cycle (The Myth of Sisyphus). Tantalus is tormented with endless discipline of being compelled to remain in a lake with fruit however, not having the capacity to fulfill his thirst and appetite (Greek Myths). These two references add to the ballad in various ways.…
