a) I chose engineer Elizabeth Holmes because she is such an inspiring woman. She created an innovation that benefits everyone. She was able to change a medical procedure that is way outdated compared to the modern world. Holmes grew up wanting to make a difference in the world. In honesty, I thought her success to build her wealth was so astonishing that I researched her to know more about what steps took her to her success.

Theranos is now an extremely successful company, and Holmes has been made a billionaire from it. Theranos has cut medical cost in an enormous cut, it has made a contract with Walgreen stores to provide more services accessible to everyone(Loria and Friedman, 2015). It really intrigues me that her innovation is engineer orientated, with a background of health and chemistry which makes me see her as a chemical engineer. She is definitely a engineer, but the aspects of Theranos would classify her as a chemical engineer.
