Elizabeth Caddy Stanton,
Circa 1860
While reading the first paragraph of Motherhood by Elizabeth Caddy Stanton, it reminded me of a video gone viral about a job advertisement titled Director of Operations couple of years ago that was basically describing job that required someone for twenty for hours a day, seven days of the week the three-hundred-sixty-five days a year without payment. Many of the interviewees protested, and they even believe that the kind of job was inhumane. But when the interviewees learn that the job that’s been described to them was that of a mother, they were shocked. Motherhood indeed is a twenty-four hours job that many women enter without any previous preparation.
