During the 2016 regular season, Clayton Kershaw performed like he was an elite pitcher putting up great numbers throughout the whole season. He posted an above average 1.69 ERA with a record of 12-4. He started 21 games for the Dodgers and was their best pitcher by far. On the other side, Jake Arrieta did not have as good an ERA. However, he still posted a great ERA of 3.10 with a record of 18-8. Jake was in the discussion for best in the league because of his astonishing numbers. While he pitched in 197 innings in the 2016 season, he put up an outstanding 190 strikeouts. Do the math and that is just over one strikeout per inning, which is very impressive. Arrietta may come at you a little differently than Kershaw but he gets the job done just the same way. He may start you off with a curveball or a changeup, but once you're behind, you know that all mighty sinker is coming. No one threw this pitch better than Arrieta this season.
