It is always fascinating to me to see all these Congresswoman and men come from all different places, and to end up in a central spot in Washington, DC after they win their election. One of those people of Congress is Elise Stefanik. Back in 2014, she became the youngest woman ever elected to Congress. Then, she was 30 years old. Stefanik was born on the second of July in 1984. She was born in Albany, New York. Her parents are Melanie and Ken Stefanik, who own Premium Plywood Products. This is a large wholesale distributor of plywood products and specialty woods (Aldrich). Elise Stefanik went to school at the Albany Academy for Girls until she graduated high school. Following that, she attended Harvard University. She worked under Ted Sorensen, who wrote speeches for former President John F Kennedy, during her time at Harvard (Aldrich). She graduated with honors. She was the first person to go to college in her family. Stefanik became one of the early users of his social networking platform and later introduced it to White House Deputy Chief of Staff Joel Kaplan when she worked in the Bush White House (Aldrich). Kaplan is now Facebook’s vice president for public policy. This can be thanks to her. She graduated from Harvard in 2006 with plenty of experience, schooling, and awards to bring to the table (Aldrich). With that being said, Stefanik got a job working for President George W Bush. She was an aide for a part of the White House. She was a member of the Domestic Policy Council staff and later in the Chief of Staff’s office (Aldrich).
