It is important to take a stand for God, if we chose not to then we will one day find out that we have been worshiping false gods ourselves. False prophets work for political purposes to benefit themselves, true prophets work for spiritual purposes to serve God and His people. In 1 Kings 19 Elijah flees from Jezabel because she was angry that Elijah caused the deaths of her prophets of Baal. Jezabel vowed to have Elijah killed because she could not control his actions. Elijah became depressed and sat under a broom tree (1 Kings 19:3) he prayed for God to take his life, and then he fell asleep. I understand how Elijah must have felt during this time. It seems that after great spiritual experiences involving an up heed of emotions we get discouraged and tired. God took care of Elijah and let him rest and eat. God will take care of us too, if we put our trust in Him. Elijah thought he was the only one left who was still true to God (1 Kings 19:10) and he was feeling sorry for himself. God appeared to him and asked him “What are you doing here, Elijah?” it was then Elijah thought he would hear from God by an earthquake, fire, and strong wind but, it was God that spoke to him in a gentle whisper. God does not always come to us through powerful ways, but when we are quiet, and we humble our hearts toward Him. Sometimes we need to step back from the craziness of this world to hear
