Elijah: A Case Study

Decent Essays
Phoenix Police brought Elijah to Aurora Behavioral Health after he had a physical fight with his mother Janelle in their home. Elijah had several scratches on his back and neck including a mark on his face consistent with an open palm hand slap. When Janelle came home from work, Elijah was bothering his sisters Jaylene and Leximonet inside of Leximonet's room and would not leave the room. Janelle told Elijah to stop several times and to leave his sisters alone, but he refused. Elijah threw a shoe at Leximont hitting her, and Janelle reacted by grabbing Elijah and yelling at him. Elijah then broke a vase in the home and putting his hands up in a fighting stance to his mom and stated "fight me like a man bitch" followed by spitting in her face.

The Shawnee Prophet by R. David Edmund is a book to tell the story of Tenskwatawa’s life and the way he believed he was leading his people, the Shawnee. Edmund researched a lot about the Shawnee people and why the Shawnee Prophet was the leading figure. Tenskwatawa, formally known as Lalawethika was a drunk until he was in a coma and when he woke up he believed he seen a vision. And the Shawnees viewed him as a prophet.…

My thoughts have always been that people believe and view things differently and that's ok.…

After that story whoever was telling the story would make up a silly story usually about a blue or green man with a giraffe that went traveling and exploring (I have no clue why).…

The father displays a reaction that seems extremely out of character from how he has previously been described: he hits his son across the face. The family supper has suddenly gone from normal and peaceful to violent, especially when the brother disassociates himself from the family even more by shouting an offensive slur about their race and even saying to his father “[...] I wish you were dead!” (Thien 333).
