When Elie first arrived to the camp called Auschwitz he saw such terrifying things. He could see black smoke which came from the crematory. When he first saw the smoke they wondered where it came from. After Elie saw where it came from it was unbearable to see what they saw. Until the very end because of his father. He started to give up and Elie always kept on trying to help him stay alive. Each time he got transferred he gave up a little bit more and more. So Elie always made a struggle to keep his father alive. Elie when they arrived at the last camp he lost his father and couldn’t find him. Elie thought he was dead, so when thought that he was a bit relieved that he didn’t have to worry about him anymore. There was so many things that changed the Jews faith. These are some of the things that made Elie lose his faith. The infernal flames at Auschwitz, watching his own kind get killed right in front of them, getting their family taken away and maybe even killed. Elie lost most of his faith at the beginning of the camps when he saw what was happening. Some Jews tried to help other Jews, but most of them just lost it all. There was even a person who died from losing their faith. The holocaust was one of the biggest and historical tragedies ever
