To start off, have you ever imagined what it would be like to be treated like an animal? Well, this was the sad reality for millions of innocent humans of different races and different religious beliefs. One of those innocent humans was Elie Wiesel. Elie Wiesel was born and raised in Sighet, a small town in Transylvania. Early in the year 1944, Elie was forcefully taken from home and transported to many concentration camps. After several long years, it finally all came to an end. First, throughout the novel, Elie’s religious views have changed drastically. Second, Elie’s outlook on the world and humanity has changed during the duration of the novel. Third, Elie’s love for his father has sadly fallen apart due to the mistreatment in the concentration camps. Therefore, due to an …show more content…
All through the novel, we can gather evidence that Elie is slowly losing the love for his father that he had at the beginning of the novel. Although Elie feels guilty for losing his love for his father, he is also very tired of having to take care of his father like he is his caregiver. In “Night" it stated “And deep indies of me, if I could have searched the recesses of my feeble conscience, I might have found something like: Free at Last!” (112). And finally, this quote shows that no matter how hard Elie tried, he couldn’t find any other words of words after his father died. This interprets that during the novel Elie has slowly lost the kind of love for his father that he had in the beginning of the novel. Also throughout the duration of the novel Elie had become weaker and weaker, and his father had become sicker and sicker. As Elie’s father had become very ill, Elie was the one having to take care of his father, just like a mother would do for her son. So after his father had passed, it was almost like a huge weight was lifted off his shoulders because he didn’t have to take care of his father
