By the end of season one she forms connections with members of the town outside the facility. Eleven becomes confident in herself and realizes how she was treated in Hawkins lab was inhumane, in the last episode of the season Eleven comes in contact with Brunner once more and tells him to leave, calling him a bad man, and reaching for Mike . Eleven ends up disappearing for her new found friends, showing she loved them, they tried to stop her, but she pushes them back and disappears along with the demogorgon. A girl born and raised like an animal in captivity, mistreated and unloved by the only people she knew all her life, never knowing what love was. Eleven was tested on like a rat, isolated in a cell or forced underwater in a sensory deprivation tank, of which she couldn't escape. Even though El endured all that pain for a good portion of her life she willingly put herself in danger for those she loved.
