While observing my Elementary teacher, I had noticed she uses the think aloud scaffold though out her lesson plans. A scaffold helps teachers model ways to solve a problem, then allows them to step away from the students to encourage them to use the learning material independently. She only helps the students when she sees them feeling overwhelmed or struggling. This helps her provide the students with chunks of information without overwhelming the students. A subject that I know I will be teaching is, reading comprehension in social studies. The scaffold that I will be utilizing is, I do, We do, You do.
